Landes Riverton W.Va Parkersburg WVa 9-22-34 Dear Zella Nida Don and Lafe* we just got your good letter a few minutes ago was sore glade to hear from you all. and to know that you have missed us which I thought you would not. I did not think of getting a letter so soon until Marian came to me and told me that dad had the letter. then I ? to ? him ha ha. I guess I will hafto [sic] let her see it as she always gets what she wants of me ha ha and maby [sic] she will get in a line or so to when? she see it O how glad I was to know that Nida is looking after my turkeys I soon will tell Eh? what a fine girl she is and maby he will do like B?w? H did come and get her. ha ha O what a wonderful place this is and such good people I do wish you was all here Marian has said my? day that she did wish Nida was here I guess she thinks she would get more ice cream W/overB? OWL [Oscar Wilson Landes] ---- Parkersburg 8/22/34 Wednesday eavening [sic] about 2 oclock. Dear Zella we just read your good letter and we awful glad to hear from you and all. This is a big Camp Meeting a picture was taken of the people here at 1.30 oclock this afternoon. we will try to get one and bring it. we have a lot of the best things in the world to eat a good room and bed to sleep in. They will babtize [sic] a number of people Saturday. i will bring some City papers giving account of the meeting. the weather has been fine all the time but it looks like it will rain today it getting dark & cloudy. Eld Philpott wife and little Glade? are all here and well Miss Marian and here youngest sister are both here and are fine girls and just as good as good looking. I will tell you all when we get home wish you Nida & all was here. I am glad Lafe* bought [brought?] your car? & c? we know he will tend to everything and do it good. Your affectionate father D. A.
