Box. W.Va June 15 - 1919 Mr John E. Meredith Parkersburg, W.Va Dear Brother Meredith. It looks now as tho I will not see you at Camp Meeting. Will not give you the reason in this. I am sorry because I have been looking forward to a conference with S. D. A. [Seventh Day Adventist] brethren. I have about 12 to 15 thousand dollars worth of real estate I would like to leave for the support of the old and to educate the young. My wife owns as much in her name. To get possession of this worlds goods is a problem and to dispose of it another. In my line of work I often write wills -- recently I was preparing a will for a friend and incidentally remarked that I was also puzzled as how to dispose of my property but that I would like to arrange it so as to support old people and educate the young. he replied saying he would like to [sic] the same thing with his and his estate is worth from 30 to 40 thousand dollars. This man I am speaking of is in delicate health and is not a member of any Church. I think others are in the same situation. What I want is to get the Counsel of some competent person in this matter. -- and will thank you to take it up for me with some such at Camp Meeting and let me hear from you at your earliest convenience. With kind regards to you and Sister Meredith and that Gods blessing may attend the Camp Meeting. i remain your brother in Christ, D. A. Landes
