Deed from D. A. Landes to his children: Nettie Thompson, Minnie Smith, O. W. Landes, Jennie Lawrence, C. J. Landes and Zellie Landes, March 23, 1928 This deed, made this 23rd day of March, 1928, between D. A. Landes (widower) party of the first part and Nettie Thompson, Minnie Smith, O. W. Landes, Jennie Lawrence, C. J. Landes and Zellie [sic]]Landes, parties of the second part, witnesseth, that the said party of the first part hereby grants, bargains, sells and conveys unto the said parties of the second part, all his right, title and interest in the two tracts fo land lying in Union District, of Pendleton County, West Virginia, in the "Bland Hills", owned by the late America R. Landes, wife of grantor and mother of grantees, consisting of one tract of 240 acres to which she obtained title by deed from Job Huffman (but from this tract 12 1/4 acres have previously been sold to O. W. Lands, and are not included in this conveyance), and another tract of 70 acres to which America R. Landes obtained title from Wilson Dolly, reference being made to the recorded deeds for sam in the office of the clerik of the county court of said county. The consideration of this conveyance is the sum of $1.00 receipt of which is acknowledged and the further consideration that grantees shall furnish to the grantor a hoe and residence at his present home on the 240 acre tract, food, clothing, proper maintenance, care and attention for the remainder of his life and medical bills, with the furter right ot grantor to have kept, fed and cared for by grantees on said land one horse and the privilege of keeping poultry and not to exceed 12 ewes on said land. And for the still further consideration of the payment by grantees of all the debts of the late America R. Landes, including the debts of O. W. Landes and Zellie Landes, and the payament of and the carrying out of all the provisions of the mortgage given by said America R. Landes and grantor to the Federal Land Bank of Baltimore, duly recorded in said office. And in consideration of the payment by grantees of the two judgments of W. W. McClung against D. A. Landes, as shown by a separate agreement of this date, and the payment of the judgment of Nelson Wilsons against said grantor. The said grantees further agree to dismiss, an [sic] settle, at their [2] cost, their chancery suit not pending in the circuit court of said county agains grantor. D. A. Landes having conveyed to the said Zellie Landes, a tract of 61 acres by deed dated September 1, 1926, and recorded in said office in Deed Book No. 56, at page 406, grantees, by their acceptance of this dee, waive any or any claim or interest they may have had in said tract, and confirm the said Zellie Landes in her ownership and possession of same.
