Landes-Dolly Cemetery Grave Register


Here is a list of graves in the Landes-Dolly Cemetery as listed in the publication, Cemetery Records of Pendleton County, West Virginia, published by the Pendleton County Historical Society, 2013:

Henry Bland (b. Apr 25, 1770; d. Feb 27, 1888), son of Thomas and Margaret Thompson Bland, husband of Margaret Weirick (1st wife) and Mary Dolly (2nd wife). Note: Thomas Bland is burried in a cemetery high on a hill overlooking Germany Valley, further back on the Bland Hills road toward US Rt. 33. The property is currently owned by John Bland, the gr-gr-gr- grandson of Thomas Bland.

Mary Dolly Bland (1795-1880), daughter of John Dolly I (Dahle) and Mary Shoulders Dolly, 2nd wife of Henry Bland.

John Dolly I (Dahle) (1749-1847), the original 'pioneer' Dolly, first settled Germany Valley, the Dolly Sods is named for his family.

Mary Shoulders Dahle (Dolly) (b. 1776; d. Oct 14, 1838), daughter of Conrad Shoulders, wife of Johann Dahle (John Dolly).

Elizabeth Harper Dolly (b. Feb 15, 1840; d. Apr 26, 1876), daughter of George and Delilah Hevener Harper, wife of Job Dolly.

Job Dolly (Apr 15, 1833; d. Jan 14, 1905), Son of John (II) and Susannah Bouse Dolly, wife of Elizabeth Harper Dolly. Father of America Rebecca Dolly, Florence Dolly Kile, and Wilson Dolly.

John Dolly (II) (b. Sep 26, 1798; d. Dec 14, 1879), son of Johann Dahle (John Dolly I) and Mary Shoulders Dahle (Dolly), husband of Susanna Bouse.

John Wesley Dolly (John Dolly III) (b. Sep 27, 1823; d. May 8, 1894), Son of John Dolly II and Susannah Bouse Dolly, husband of Lucinda Bland.

Nettie Dolly (1872-1881), daughter John (II) and Elizabeth Harper Dolly.

Wilson H. Dolly (b. May 3, 1867; d. Aug 25, 1945), Son of Job Dolly. Brother of America Rebecca Dolly Landes and Florence Dolly Kile.

Zella Sota Landes (b. Jun 2, 1886; d. Aug 25, 1975), daughter of Daniel A. and America R. Landes. Zella never married.

Daniel Andrew Landes (b. May 11, 1851; d. Nov 30, 1937), son of Jesse and Christina Kimbal Landes, husband of America R. Dolly Landes.

M. Donald Landes (1897-1943), son of Virginia Susan Landes Lawrence (Jinnie). Unknown father.

Oscar Wilson Landes (b. Aug 27, 1881; d. Jan 17, 1959), son of Daniel A and America R. Dolly Landes, husband of Verda Warner (Verdie) Landes.

America Rebecca Dolly Landes (b. Aug 13, 1857; d. Aug 19, 1926), daughter of Job and Elizabeth Harper Landes, wife of Daniel Andrew Landes.

Maryanna Lawrence (b. Jul 12, 1908; d. Sep 27, 1931), daughter of Pendleton & Virginia Susan Landes Lawrence (Jinnie), never married.

Pendleton Lawrence (b. Aug 4, 1876; d, July 16, 1940), son of Anderson & Dianna Lantz Lawrence, husband of Virginia Susan Landes Lawrence (Jinnie).

Virginia Susan Landes Lawrence (Jinnie) (b. May 22, 1883; d. Jul 5, 1973), daughter of Daniel A. and America R. Landes, wife of Pendleton Lawrence.

Henry H. Mowry (no information available; no stone can be found).

Rudalee Suhrie Owensby (1942-2008), daughter of Daniel E. and Ruth L. Lawrence, wife of William B. Owensby.

John M. Thompson (b. Oct 2, 1932; d. Jun 4, 1965), possibly son of Silas and Carrie S. Thompson.

Local tradition believes that buried nearby are members of the Pendleton Reserves [Civil War]. No markers.
